During the Expat Fair (14:00-19:00) you have a chance to meet different organizations, associations and sports clubs in Herning, get more information about their activities and if interested, become a member. At the same time, several workshops and speeches will also be held - all free of charge!

The workshops and speeches will take place in two sessions which means you can take part of either one or two of them. You can choose from:

Session 1 (15:00-16:30):

1. Getting started and job search in Denmark by Workindenmark
Are you new to Denmark and do you need more practical information on getting started? Or could you use some guidance on how to successfully search for a job? Then Workindenmark would like to invite you to a free of charge workshop with important on-arrival information. You will be introduced to practical matters, from drivers licence over NemID to social security, and get an insight into writing a CV and cover letter according to Danish requirements.

2. Does your body speak Danish? by Solveig Malvik
A participatory workshop on body language and non verbal cues. We'll look at body language across cultures, what's specific and what's general. What can you do to create rapport - in Denmark, in Scandinavia or anywhere, and is it different? We'll give you tools to get along and get local, at home and abroad.

3. Integrating into Danish society by Hope Bruun and Paul McElheron
Two teachers of VIA Design - Hope from USA and Paul from UK - share their personal experience of settling into life in the Land of LEGO. Come and hear what was the easiest and the hardest about adapting to the ways of the Danes.

Session 2 (17:15-18:45):

1. Buying real estate in Denmark by Danske Bank
Home options • Buying real estate in Denmark • Legislation • The path to your new home • Expected cost when buying • Taxation and fixed costs • Financial requirements • Financing • Mortage options

2. Danish culture for dummies by Anatolie Cantir
If Denmark were a person, what kind of a person would it be? During this session, expect us to mainly answer this question but also other general questions regarding hygge, law of Jante, trust, equality, nationalism and welfare as important elements of the Danish culture, history and society.

3. Effective networking in Denmark by Ronny Engstrøm
How do you get into your next job? How do you get a big and useful network in Denmark? Through fun learning, high intensity and exercises, this workshop will get you ready to extend your personal and professional network in the local community and also move faster into your new job.
